Last month I experienced one of the best and most emotional days of my life celebrating the wedding of one of my dearest and closest friends. She was the most gorgeous bride, the groom was equally handsome and the atmosphere both during the ceremony and the wedding party was relaxed and full of love.
To honor my friend, I wanted to look at my best so I had chosen carefully all the make up products that I would use on the day. I don’t know if this happens to you too but often when I try a new make up style at home in my pajamas I end up looking fabulous, my bed is so impressed with me! When I try to achieve the same result just before a big event though, a little clown is staring back at me in the mirror! Fortunately this time everything worked smoothly and my make up survived a hot night, 7 hours of dancing and staid in place up until 6 o’clock in the following morning that I went to bed 🙂
These are the products I used:
I had read numerous reviews raving about this foundation and I had also tried a sample of the product that made me fall in love with it instantly. So when it came to choosing the right foundation for the wedding, I had no second thoughts on which one to go for. This product is perfect for special occasions like this as it offers great coverage and a flawless, almost airbrushed effect; it just doesn’t fade away! It feels much heavier than the type of coverage I’m used to though, so I am using it only for nights out and similar events as I prefer something lighter for everyday use.
I have been using this bronzer all summer long as it gives such a warm, healthy, sun-kissed look! I’m always cautious when it comes to bronzing powders as some of them can make you look orange but the Hoola shade is matte and looked great both before getting a tan and after my summer holidays. I also loved the brush that came with it which doesn’t happen often with brushes that come with the product packaging.
Although this is supposed to be a contouring palette I used it just as a blush and highlighter kit. I loved the colours and especially the highlighter is one of the best I have ever tried! Classy glow rather than extreme contouring, just as I like it!
Chanel lipsticks are my favourite when it comes to special occasions make up as they stay in place for hours while they are still hydrating and light on the lips. As I was wearing a coral/peachy dress I wanted a lipstick that would be suitable but still stand out and the Roussy was the perfect shade for it!
I wanted to add a little shine to my lips so the NARS Gold Digger lip gloss was perfect for the job! Its texture is great as it’s long-lasting for a lip gloss and hydrating without feeling sticky. The shade is subtle but make the lips look fuller.
Other products used: Laura Mercier primer, Naked Smoky Palette, Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara, Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil.
