I absolutely love November! It’s my birthday month, our anniversary month and this year it also marked the beginning of my big 3-0!
I got thoroughly spoiled by my amazing partner and friends and got loads of lovely gifts. I also had a good excuse to spoil myself with some nice treats!
Here are some of the things I loved the most this November:
LUSH Spa-Synaesthesia Treatment
This is the gift that I got myself for my 30th birthday and I enjoyed every minute of it! I love LUSH, had read about their spa treatments and was dying to try one of them. I had initially booked The Comforter treatment at the Lush Spa in Chelsea. A couple of hours before my appointment though, they called me from the Spa to let me know that the therapist giving The Comforter treatment had called in sick and offered me The Synaesthesia treatment (which lasts longer and is normally £40 more expensive) at the same price. Of course I accepted and thought of it as a Lush gift for my birthday 🙂
I am going to briefly describe the experience here as I intend to write a detailed blog post about it-watch this space. If I had to use one word for it, it would be magical. Stepping into the spa kitchen felt like stepping into a different world, into the kitchen of a cozy cottage in the countryside while the treatment room looked like it was out of a good witch’s house, full of beautiful scents, potion bottles and relaxing music and sounds. My amazing therapist Mona, gave me the best full body massage I have ever experienced in my life and when it finished I felt like I was walking on air. I was relaxed, full of positive energy and feeling that I could achieve anything I ever desired! Walking out to a busy Christmassy Chelsea was like being transported to a different world! I had high expectations for this treatment but the experience exceeded them all and I can’t wait to try a different one next. Fingers crossed there will be Lush Spa in Newcastle soon!
L’Occitane-Amande Shower Oil
Anyone who knows me well knows my love for L’Occitane. For that reason I was over the moon when I got as a birthday present a beauty bag full of L’Occitane goodies! The Almond collection is one of my favourites -the Almond Delicious Soap in always in my bathroom-so the first product to try from my beauty bag was the Amande Shower Oil. Its scent is out of this world, fresh and sweet at the same time. It’s very hydrating and leaves the skin smooth, moisturised smelling soooo good!
System Professional-Silver Shampoo
I have brown hair with blonde Ombre highlights for a natural look. I love the colour combination but frequently the highlights can turn a little yellowish so the last time I went to my hairdresser’s I asked for a cooler tone of blonde. She then recommended using this shampoo. It’s a bit on the pricey side (£18.95) and as I hadn’t used a silver shampoo before I was a bit skeptical about its effect. I have been using it only once a week (to avoid overpigmenting) for about a month and it has worked really well for my colour! The highlights have come out nicely looking shiny and blending well with my base tone. The shampoo also leaves the hair very soft and hydrated. According to the website the product is great for blonde hair, which is coloured, natural or bleached especially if you do not want to see warmth on blonde or yellow on grey hair as well as for hair with highlights.
Waterstones-Letters to my Future Self by Lea Redmond
This was one more of my amazing birthday gifts. I love journaling and the idea of writing letters that will be opened by my future self is very exciting to me. This book includes 12 fold-and-mail style letters with prompts to write about a variety of topics (‘I promise to myself…’, ‘All the things I’d like to try someday’, ‘A pep talk for the future me’). It’s a very special way to reflect on dreams and desires, look into the things you love the most in life, feel grateful for all you have and focus on your most precious values. Postdated to be opened on a certain date in the future, I’m sure the letters will make me very happy and emotional when it’s time to open them.
I could go on forever about my November favourites but I will keep the rest of them for the next posts!
Have a lovely and very Christmassy week every one!
Love,
