Hi everyone! As Christmas in now just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do something festive and different! So this is my version of The Christmas Tag spotted at the brilliant MakeUp Savvy blog. Enjoy!
What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
The Holiday. Hands down. I watch it every year without fail. It’s such a funny, heartwarming story! Plus, I’m in love with Jude Law and also Kate Winslet’s cottage is my dream house! So adorable!
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Hmmm… This is a tricky one! I would say it depends on which part of the world I’m at! So when we are at my partner’s family in Italy we exchange gifts on Christmas Eve. When we are in Greece though, we exchange gifts on New Year’s Day as the Greek Santa comes on New Year’s Eve to leave the gifts under the tree!
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I have a very special Christmas memory from when I was only 3 or 4. I woke up in the middle of the night (or it could have been midnight but you know, 3 or 4!) on New Year’s Eve and found my parents with my Godmother Marina in the living room. They all looked so happy and beautiful and I got to see my Godmother without expecting it and Santa had been already and there were loads of gifts under the Christmas Tree! It is one of my earliest memories but I really treasure it!
4. Favourite festive food?
You mean apart from the shocking quantity of chocolate that I have been consuming the past 3 weeks?! Well one of my favourite Christmas treats is Pandoro- it translates as golden bread-an Italian sweet yeast bread covered in icing sugar. It’s heavenly good!
Another Christmas treat favourite of mine is a Greek Christmas dessert called diples. Diples are made of thin sheet-like dough. The dough is rolled into long, thin strips, fried and folded in hot oil and then dipped in honey syrup and sprinkled with walnuts. They are crunchy and delicious!
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
It has to be the gift Fabio and I gave ourselves 3 years ago when we went for a trip in New York. It was everything I was expecting and more. The city looked even more beautiful with its Christmas decorations and the atmosphere was so magically festive!
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Probably everything food related hahaha! Mainly the way the house smells after my mum has baked Christmas desserts. The scent of tangerines, oranges and cinnamon also bring back Christmas memories.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
The past few years I have been travelling home or to Italy on Christmas Eve. I do believe though that it’s nice to have little personal traditions so I will think of something special for this year!
8. What tops your tree?
A bigger bauble! As we are spending the Christmas Holidays abroad, we only have a tiny little tree. It has some nice decorations on but they are quite limited due to the lack of space.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
A trip to Disneyland in Paris! And even now, I have visited many places but haven’t been there yet 🙁 I’m worried that if I go now I won’t be able to feel the magic anymore. But I’m still in touch with my inner child so I think it would still be very exciting!
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?

Happy Auntie
My partner and I live in the UK but he is from Italy and I’m from Greece. Christmas for me means spending quality time with our family and friends in Italy and in Greece. We miss them so much throughout the year and so it’s great to finally be with them.
I hope you enjoyed reading this Christmas Tag! I would love to hear about all your Christmas traditions!
Have a Merry Christmas all!
Loads of love,
Eleni xx
