Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2018 is an amazing year for everyone and that it brings you everything your heart desires! I always like starting the new year with appreciating all the great things that happened the year we just left behind. 2017 was a challenging year for me in many respects but it was mainly a great one with many amazing, unforgettable moments! So I choose to be grateful for everything 2017 brought me and look back only at the nice memories. Here are some of my 2017 highlights:
This was one of my proudest moments in 2017! I worked hard on creating a website that expressed my personality and my blog’s style. It was quite difficult at times especially as it involved learning loads of new things. But that’s what made it even more interesting! I am extremely happy with the end result. Of course it is a work in progress but it has made blogging even more enjoyable! It’s my new baby and I love it!
The summer of 2017 was a very special one for me. Two of my best friends got married and I got to be their Maid of Honour and my partner’s brother also got married to his beautiful wife. All three weddings took place in beautiful locations in Sicily and Greece, the couples were gorgeous and were glowing with love and the atmosphere was sentimental and full of happiness. I was overwhelmed with feelings of pride, love and joy and I’m sure these moments will stay in my mind forever.
How could I leave out one of the biggest 2017 highlights in the world of beauty?! I received my first pink parcel in October and it was love at the first sight! Since then, Glossier products have become staples in my everyday make-up and the brand is in the top list of favourite beauty brands!
London is one of my favourite places in the world and my birthday is my favourite day of the year! So when I got to celebrate my birthday in London with my boyfriend and some of my closest friends, it was the perfect combination! We only spent the weekend there but we got to see London beautifully decorated in its Christmas lights, try delicious food and even do some shopping! It’s the second year that I’m celebrating my birthday in London so maybe I should make it a tradition!
I used to practice yoga once a week focusing mainly on the Asanas and leaving out the spiritual element of the practice. When developing sciatica in the summer of 2017 left me struggling to even walk after 2 years of intensive training at the gym, I had to find something to help me restore my mobility and release energy without risking worsening my condition. This led me to start practicing yoga on a daily basis, this time also embracing the spiritual element of the practice as well as the asanas. I discovered a big love and passion for yoga and it’s now a big part of my life. One of my 2017 highlights that I’m planning to stick to for the rest of my life.
Give me a smart-phone and leave me alone in a room and I can take hundreds of selfies, no problem! When I have to actually pose in front of other people though in a ‘just-casually-hanging-there-all dressed up-having-my-photo-taken’ way, I’m like a fish out of water. Thanks for my friends Nora and Maria though, I managed to do my first ever fashion photoshoot! OK I wasn’t feeling great to start with but eventually I relaxed and enjoyed it!
I hope that 2018 will be as full of excitement and special moments! I’m planning on enjoying every minute of it!
