Quali-Tea Time

teaI’m writing this post curled up on my sofa, fighting a cold and sipping a hot cup of Throat Therapy tea from the Adagio Teas’ Body and Soul collection in an effort to soothe my painful sore throat. It’s that time of the year that I am most bound to catch a cold and instead of a new year-new me state I find myself in a new year-poor me state!

Tea has always been a source of warm comfort for me.  It’s my go-to remedy for colds, sore tummy, stress relief, mood boost and even a broken heart! Although I start my day with a cup of coffee, tea is my evening companion when I’m relaxing watching Netflix, reading a book or writing my blog.

Adagio Teas noticed my love for tea as I have blogged about it here before and asked if they could send me a selection of their teas to try and review. I was very excited with their kind offer and even more excited to receive a big box with an amazing tea variety from Matcha teas to delicious Rooibos teas, herbal blends, chai teas and everything else a tea-lover could dream of!  Needless to say that since receiving this parcel my tea-drinking habit has increasing massively in an effort to try as many of the different flavours as possible! Here are some of my favourite blends:

Sweet Tooth Teas

Adagio Teas Sweet Tooth Teas

I have the biggest sweet tooth ever so I loved this black tea sampler! Especially now after the Christmas indulgence, that I’m trying to cut down on desserts, these sweet flavoured teas were perfect for satisfying my cravings in a guilt-free way.  The set includes samples of 4 different flavours: Caramel, Cream, Tiger Eye and Chocolate Chip and each sample makes about 8-10 cups of tea.  All flavours are delicious but the Tiger Eye stole my heart as it’s a combination of two of my favourite things in the world, chocolate and caramel.

Body and Soul Collection

Adagio Teas Body and Soul Collection

I loved everything about this loose leaf tin selection. The beautiful packaging, the delicious taste and the health benefits. The set includes 3 tins: Tea Tox, Throat Therapy and Happy Belly.

TeaTox promises to cleanse the body and lift the mood. It’s a tasty blend of milk thistle, burdock, green rooibos tea, cinnamon bark, peppermint leaves, dandelion root & lemon balm and although I can’t really tell whether it cleanses my body I can confirm that it definitely lifts my spirits!

Throat Therapy is really amazing for soothing a sore throat and it’s what I’ve been consuming the most the past couple of days. It contains licorice root, raspberry leaves, hibiscus flowers, orange peels, cinnamon bark, aniseed & slippery elm, tastes great and it’s very effective for instant relief for my sore throat.
Happy Belly is created to calm the stomach. I have an extremely sensitive stomach and especially during stressful periods I suffer a lot with stomach aches. This blend contains soothing senna leaf, licorice root, green rooibos tea, orange peels, chicory, aniseed, slippery elm, pu erh poe tea & ginger root. It has a lovely sweet taste and it does what it says, calms the stomach giving a great sensation of comfort.

 Matcha Blueberry

Adagio Teas Matcha Blueberry

I’ve had my fair share of matcha lattes and I’m aware of all the health benefits of this Japanese super-tea but I had never prepared it at home. Although a bit of an acquired taste, I have really enjoyed drinking the Adagio Matcha Blueberry tea. It’s really easy to make and tastes great especially with a touch of Almond milk.

Some of Matcha’s health benefits:

  • Is contains 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea
  • Enhances the  metabolism and boosts calorie-burn
  • Detoxifies the body
  • It’s soothing and relaxing for body and mind
  • It’s rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
  • Improves concentration and is a good mood booster
  • Contains vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
  • Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar

Adagio Teas  Turmeric Bliss

The unique taste of this turmeric tea is so refreshingly gorgeous with its combination of fruity flavours and spices! It is blended with apple pieces, rose hips, cinnamon bark, ginger root, orange peels, natural mango flavour, marigold flowers, natural orange flavour, mango pieces, black peppercorn  and of course turmeric inclusion. Turmeric is famous for its popular for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant health benefits so this tea is wellness in a cup. One of the most interesting herbal teas I have ever tried!
