High-end Vs Budget Make Up Favourites

When it comes to buying good make up,  I don’t mind splurging a little as long as the product has a distinctive quality advantage to its budget make up alternative. Of course I get also hooked by a beautifully designed packaging and luxurious scents and textures but I have never re-purchased an expensive make up product just because of its brand name or packaging. Having tried loads of different beauty products and brands, I have come across budget make up products that are as good or even better than more high end alternatives but I have also come across luxurious make up that looks and feels amazing from the attention to detail on their packaging to their ground-breaking quality of their formulas. Here are some of my most favourite top-end make up products and their budget alternatives which in some cases are just as good.

Armani silk luminous foundation

Top-End Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

Or the Holy Grail of foundations! This is £42.00 that’s definitely worth spending as the quality of this foundation is really difficult to beat. I haven’t used a foundation that is easier to apply than this one ; it works perfectly with fingers, brushes or a beauty blender. Although lightweight, it offers amazing coverage and the effect of a flawless skin.  Enriched with Micro–fil™ technology, it gives a glowing, dewy look.  I  get compliments about my skin every time I’m wearing this foundation so to me, this product totally deserves its hype.

Budget Foundation: Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation

I love the texture of this foundation and the fact that its packaging allows you to use every last bit of it. At a price of only £13.99, it gives great coverage, is easily buildable and unlike most sponges that come with make up products, its sponge is perfect for applying this foundation. It is also very long-lasting for a drugstore make up product. As you can see I have used it all and will be repurchasing!

radiant creamy concealer

Top-End Concealer: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this concealer despite all the reviews I had read about it! Better late than never though right? The texture of this concealer is what makes it a winner for me. It melts so beautifully on the skin especially on the under-eye area and it gives an instant glow while keeping the skin hydrated. It covers perfectly fine lines and dark circles and it’s a total saviour on a tiring day as it makes all signs of fatigue fade away.  RRP £24.

Budget Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I can’t count the times that I have re-purchased this concealer.  I have even bought it for my friends in Greece! At a price of £4.19 the quality of this concealer is simply amazing! It is perfect for covering imperfections and dark circles. It never leaves my beauty bag! When it comes to budget make up this one is one of the best I have ever tried!

NARS super orgasm

Top-End Blush: NARS Super Orgasm Blush

This newer, more glittery version of the iconic NARS Orgasm blush is one of my beauty bag gems. Its peachy-pink colour gives a beautiful healthy look whilst the golden shimmering undertones work as a highlighter adding extra glow to the look.  It has a silky texture which blends beautifully with every foundation. RRP £24.

Budget Blush: Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher

This is an all-time-favourite of mine and a Bourjois signature product.  I love everything about it from the compact packaging with the little mirror to its beautiful rose scent.  The baked texture blends beautifully and a little goes a long way. At just £6.49 a pot, I own many shades of this product but my favourite is Lilas D’ Or.

Nails inc Caffeine Hit

Top-End Nail Polish: Nails Inc Caffeine Hit

£11 is not an negligible amount for a nail polish but I love the quality of the Nails Inc nail polishes. Fast to dry, long wearing and with a gel-like effect they are definitely worth their money. I particularly love the Caffeine Hit Espresso Martini shade because it looks and smells like my favourite coffee.

Budget Nail Polish: Max Factor Glossfinity in Rose Petal

At almost half the price of the Nails Inc nail polish (£5.99) the Max Factor Glossfinity matches its quality.  It’s very easy to apply, dries fast and is available in 17 amazing shades. I’m loving the glamorously romantic Rose Petal shade at the minute-one of the few metallic shades I like that much.

Which are your favourite top-end and budget make up favourites? What else do you recommend I try?
