Beauty Favourites New Year Catch-Up

beauty favourites

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a great week! Mine was absolutely hectic so I’m now enjoying a much needed relaxing Saturday evening in a candle-lit living room with coffee (in my super-cute Mrs mug- thanks Mirella and Graeme!) in hand and laptop on my lap.

I have so many things to share with you that I wasn’t sure what to start with! I really want to share our wedding day with you (officially the most beautiful day of our lives!) but as it only happened a few weeks ago I want to let it sink in a little bit more. I will also do separate posts on everything a about planning the wedding from make up and lingerie to decoration and stationary. Here’s a little sneak-pic for now 🙂

I had decided to start the first blog of 2019 with some of my latest beauty favourites but with the launch of the new Urban Decay On-the-Run palettes it had to wait for this week’s post.

I want to start my beauty favourites list with my new lip oil crush, the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Red Berry Glam. This was a Christmas limited edition (along with the shade Honey Glam) and unfortunately I was too late to the game as when I discovered it… It was sold out everywhere I looked, online and offline. Luck smiled back at me though at Manchester airport the day I was flying to Greece as I found this little treasure at the Clarins Manchester Airport shop. And I’m so glad I did!

First of all I loved its nourishing texture. Unlike other lip oils, it feels light on the lips and gives softness and comfort due to the botanical oils it contains. The Red Berry Glam shade was perfect for the Christmas holidays as it gave a glamorous shine in a classy, understated way without being sticky. It also has an amazing berry scent! Now this shade is probably out of stock in most places but I will definitely be adding other shades to my collection as they will be great especially for the summer when I tend to replace lip sticks with lip glosses. Check out the full range here.

The rest of the beauty favourites on this blog post are little budget-friendly miracles! You see the months coming up to the wedding, I spent all my make up budget on finding the perfect lipstick for my special day (more on this on another blog post). This meant that when I needed new foundation on Christmas I had to explore a much cheaper, drugstore alternative to my NARS. What I found really rewarded me.

I always thought that Max Factor made great quality, inexpensive make up. The Radiant Lift foundation is a great example. It gives great, buildable coverage -many people complimented me on how my skin looked when I was wearing it- without looking heavy on the skin. Its application is fab, feels hydrating on the skin and stays intact for hours. One of the best budget foundations I have ever tried. I got the shade Rose Beige from Boots for £14.99.The other budget-friendly product I bought recently was the Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer. I had heard about the Healthy Mix range hype but hadn’t tried any of their products. This concealer is only £8.99 on Boots and it offers great coverage without looking cakey- an issue I have with most concealers unfortunately. Its formula is enriched with a blend of vitamins C, E and B5 which help ease signs of fatigue, are hydrating and help the skin look brighter. Its applicator is fab too but I wish less product was coming out with each application.

The last product of this week’s beauty favourites is the Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in Blossom Glow. Another great product at a great price (£4.99 from Boots), I first loved this highlighter when I saw it on her face when we were Face-timing. Now a highlighter that manages to shine through the otherwise blurring screen is a good one! It has a baked powder formula but it blends beautifully on the skin. I’ve been wearing it every day since the day I bought it!

That’s all for this week folks! I think it’s time now to replace that coffee with a glass of red…

Love,

Eleni xx
